The President found FDR's speech clunky, as various news sources reported, but FDR knew what had to be done, and noted "that he would have taken extraordinary steps to achieve what needed to be done." The present version of the Senate Stimulus version goes nowhere near on what it is required to be done. With an expected Congressional Budget predicted shortaff of almost $3 trillion; we would have needed more than the alloted $800 billion. The Nation Magazine recently reported that we did need $2.9 trillion. Obama turn this ship in the right direction or we all sink.
