Friday, April 3
2:00 PM – 3:15 PM Eastern Time

The National Law Center on Homelessness & Poverty (NLCHP), the National Alliance to End Homelessness (NAEH), the National Network to End Domestic Violence (NNEDV) are offering this webinar training to help domestic violence advocates and service providers learn about funding opportunities authorized by the recently enacted economic recovery legislation.

This February, President Obama signed into law the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. This law authorized:

  1. $1.5 billion in homelessness prevention funding
  2. $225 million for Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) programs, including: $50 million for Transitional Housing grants, and $100 million for Victim of Crime Act (VOCA) funds.

This training will feature:

  • Steve Derene, Executive Director of the National Association of VOCA Assistance Administrators (NAVAA),
  • Kristin Weschler, Program Specialist, Office of Violence Against Women, Department of Justice,
  • A representative from U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, and
  • Kris Billhardt, Director of Home Free, Volunteers of America, Oregon

to provide an overview of these grant programs, discuss program goals, and examples of how these funds may be used.

To register for the training click here! The webinar is free, but NLCHP requests donations to help defray the costs of the webinar service.

We are expecting a high volume of participants, so please email your questions [Email address: trainings #AT# nlchp.org - replace #AT# with @ ] in advance before Wednesday, April 1st. Thank you!

Presentation materials will be available on NLCHP’s website.
