Donovan Testifies at SEVRA Hearing for
Financial Services Committee

On May 21, HUD Secretary Shaun Donovan testified before the House Financial Services Committee about the draft version of the Section 8 Voucher Reform Act (SEVRA) that is being offered by Representative Maxine Waters (D-CA) is currently circulating among House Members. He discussed the draft SEVRA in relation to the Section 8 funding formula, inspections, rent and income changes, administrative fees, and the Moving-to-Work program.

There is still time to register for the Friday June 5, 2009, between 9:30 and noon, the New Jersey Advocacy Network to End Homelessness and the Housing and Community Development Network of New Jersey will be holding a public forum to discuss the Section Eight Voucher Reform Act (SEVRA). The Center for Budget and Policy Priorities (CBPP) will be presenting on the current status of SEVRA as well as the benefits to the community.
