Together we can end homelessness
The mission of the New Jersey Advocacy Network to End Homelessness is advocacy on a local, state and federal level for adequate funding and sound practices that will end homelessness. The Advocacy Network is an all volunteer organization.
The 3rd Annual Congressional Reception is only one of our many events that help us to achieve our goal of ending homelessness.
The Advocacy Network has achieved several important goals in the last year including securing passage for the County Homeless Trust Fund, holding training sessions on the HPRP funds and preparing the first Congressional Report Card.
Funding for all of these activities is secured through voluntary contributions from some of the members of the Steering Committee.
Among this year’s contributors are:
- Advance Housing
- Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Trenton
- Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Metuchen
- Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Newark
- Corporation for Supportive Housing
- Jewish Family Service of Atlantic and Cape May Counties
- Lutheran Social Ministries
- Lutheran Office of Governmental Ministry
- Mercer Alliance to End Homelessness
- Making it Possible to End Homelessness (MIPH)
- Monarch Housing Associates
- Supportive Housing Association (SHA)
Even with this support, the Congressional Reception consumes most of our financial resources. In order to make sure a wide diversity of people can attend this event, we offer it free of charge. By providing transportation and food at the reception, the event will cost the Network a little more than $50 per person.
Therefore, we are requesting organizations and/or individuals to consider making a contribution of any amount to assist in both defraying this cost as well as in having the resources to continue and expand our efforts to end homelessness in New Jersey.
