The Interagency Council on Preventing
and Reducing Homelessness
Public Hearings Announced – November 23, 2009
You and I, understand that homelessness is a risk that we all share – people of all means, of all backgrounds, of all abilities, in all of New Jersey’s counties.
You and I, must be willing to speak in one voice, throughout our communities, for the need for supportive housing and systems-based solutions to make housing for all an accessible reality.
Thus, the New Jersey Advocacy Network to End Homelessness was pleased to hear that The Interagency Council on Preventing and Reducing Homelessness has invited NJ residents to provide comments and suggestions on the quality, provision and coordination of homeless services.
Click here for the official announcement.
Ending homelessness is no longer an impossible task it is something we can and must achieve. We have learned from each other what it takes to end homelessness. There are proven strategies that work. They are already being implemented in New Jersey by counties, cities and non-profits that have developed local plans to end homelessness. We must plan together, focusing all of our energies on the single goal of ending homelessness for every individual and family in New Jersey.
Therefore, we strongly encourage our members, allies and friends to attend the hearings so that our voices will be heard not only about why we must end homelessness but also the need to employ the tools of prevention, housing first, rapid re-housing, and linkage to services that have been proven to work.
