Over 150 members and friends of the Housing and Community Development Network of NJ, a member of the Advocacy Network, came together today at the Trenton Marriott for their semi-annual meeting. In this, the Network’s 20th Anniversary Year, the meeting’s theme was Building from the Ground Up: The Next 20 Years. During the event, the Network presented its Legislator of the Year Award to three different recipients – state Sen. Dana Redd, D-5, for championing the legislation that enables counties to establish Homeless Trust Funds, and to the Boards of Chosen Freeholders of both Passaic and Union counties, for making their counties the first in the state to use the law and establish Homeless Trust Funds.

Richard Romm, an aide to Senator Redd accepted the award for her.

Louis E. Imhof III, Clerk to the Passaic County Board of Chosen Freeholders accepted the Legislator of the Year Award.

We are pleased to provide video of Mr. Imhof accepting the award. His comments underscore the importance of the homeless trust fund in implementing a plan to end homelessness.
