On Monday, March 15th the Senate Economic Growth Committee will on vote S.1 sponsored by Senators Lesniak and Bateman to change New Jersey’s procedures “concerning provision of affordable housing.” The new bill will remove requirements for low-income and very-low-income housing, excluding virtually all New Jersey families earning less than $40,000 a year. The bill defines affordable as low OR moderate income housing and there is no mention of the current 13% very low income requirement. It is NOT YET clear that Senator Lesniak has the votes… we need to keep the pressure on the following members of the Committee:
Sandra Cunningham, - Vice-Chair 201-451-5100
Richard Codey, 973-731-6770
Joseph Kyrillos, 732-671-3206
Steven Oroho, 973-584-4670
Joseph Vitale, 732-855-7441
Please call your Senator before March 15th!

Hi, I am ______________ calling from _______________. Can you tell me how the Senator plans to vote on S1 in the Economic Growth Committee on Monday? I am calling to urge that s/he votes NO. This bill is a major step backwards. It will not help build the homes New Jersey needs, and hurts our economy. Please let me know how the Senator will vote when s/he decides.
